Coaches, Trainers, Facilitators
November 8, 2008
No, I am not into definitions. But what strikes me was the simple answer to the quest I was seeking. Since my encounter with the Academy I am learning from, I have been asking what is it about the Trainers that make them so powerful and effective? What was the model they used? I have done a fair bit of training in education and learning, and I have taken Train the Trainer with 2 other successful organizations. Yet I am still looking for the secret to being a good Trainer.
The answer to the secret I was seeking was "Self Awareness". It was shared that a good Trainer is aware of herself and allows herself to be the best and true self that she can be. How straightforward yet how true!
Eben Pagan has said that the most powerful sate to be in is the state of awareness, or consciousness. In the state of awareness, one has clarity and focus; one is accepting and embracing and is functioning in its true and higher self. I am struck that at every corner I turn, I am greeted with the same concept. I just came back from an intensive training camp where I was in close community with 43 other "mirrors", my awareness has since been sharper. And I agree with the facilitators that when there is awareness, there is centeredness and I could perform the best, even under the darkest moments.
Awareness – do I know why I am here in this class? Do I know my potentials? What strengths do I bring to the class? What are my conditioning and how is that affecting me as I participate in the discussion? With awareness, things are in perspectives and I would be in a better position to intuitively know what to do for the best of all participants.
So my greatest take away (there were many) from the first class of Train the Trainer the ICA Model, is the need to be more aware of me; who I am, how I think and function. And as I gain more self awareness I would have a greater sense of acceptance and appreciation for myself and those around me. And when that happens, there will be an openness and inclusiveness that will create the most conducive learning environment, whether I am a Coach, a Trainer or a Facilitator.
There are at least 14 mirrors for me in the Train the Trainer class, I thank you all in advance for being my mirrors and I know I will have yet heightened awareness after 7 weeks so I can be a more empowered facilitator.
Marketing For Coaches?
November 8, 2008
I have been marketing and sales adverse for as long as I can remember, until last year this time, I attended Blair Singer's Authentic Sales Intensive Workshop series. That followed by Guerrilla Business Intensive by Hark Eker has opened up my eyes to see things in a new way. Since then I opened up myself to greater opportunities.
When I was studying to equip myself as a professional coach, the Academy I was with had factored in business building classes, so we not only learn the skills necessary to be a coach but we also know how to build our own successful coaching business. I have had some of the best and smartest business coaches at the Academy. I am so glad the Coaching Academy continues to bring in expertise from different backgrounds.
But concept is one thing and practice is another. Marketing and Sales cannot be learned unless you do it, like dive into it. And dive I did. It is the Ready, Fire, Aim motto that I took, and now I am in the Aim stage. I dived into doing the tele seminar, writing the articles, conducting workshop and I get into the game and now comes the time for refining the strategy and the system. It is really exciting to see things starting to take shape.
I am in the middle of a month-long marketing program that will help make refinement and adjustments to my business model. I am learning more intensely about marketing and implementing new ideas for my coaching services to you.
Expect chances in a month's time. As in everything else, one needs to go forward and improve all the time. And if you would like to see certain features in my services, I invite you to drop me a line through either the comment boxes or via the Contact Us page. I always like to hear from you to know how I can serve you better.
So, yes, it will be an intensive month for me as I Aim and Adjust my coaching services to you. And if you think that a little guidance and support in marketing may help you in your business building too, then hop over here and check out this brilliant business coach, without whom, both I and my coaching services will still be in the closet.
Learn And Earn While Getting A Permanent Residence?
November 6, 2008
Won’t it be good if your children can work AND earn some real dough while they are also working on their certificate or diploma? That way they also learn the meaning of independence, and get to integrate into the real world instead of remaining academics (nothing against scholars). That will help lighten your burden as you seek to bring the children up while on a tighter budget (who is not on a tighter budget these days?)
Why haven’t anyone thought of a system that allows students to be self supportive and learn independence while making the most of their time and reaping experiences in the real harsh world? Well, I may just have the right thing for you to consider, check this out – don’t trust me without doing some due diligence too – although I do appreciate your confidence in me (smiling).
Firstly – This program allows your children to earn real hard cash while they study towards a certificate or diploma
Secondly – That means your children get 2 years’ relevant experience on graduation. By they way Universities and Polytechnic graduates have maybe a 3 to 6 months of internship
Thirdly - This is a registered as a school with the Singapore Ministry of Education
Fourthly - This organization is also a Licensed Employment Agency, registered by the Ministry of Manpower Singapore and will place all students in this program with full-time employers (terms and conditions apply)
Fifth Point - The salary your children earn will be able to cover their own tuition fee. That means your children are placed in a job that earns while they are also studying for a diploma program
Sixth Point - Students who are enrolled into the Diploma or Advance Diploma Program can apply for Singapore Permanent Residence after 2 years on “S Pass”
Seventh Point - Students enrolled in the Diploma/Advance Dip recognized by 60 Universities in 13 countries (Those on Adv diploma can go directly to MBA/MSC in some Universities
Industries included in the course are as follows:
– Travel, Tourism and Hospitality (ABE)
- Business Management (ABE)
- Marketing (CIM)
- Accountancy (ACCA)
- Nursing (BSc[Hons] from the University of Sunderland, recognizedd by the Singapore
Nursing Board)
I am not a representative of this organisation and do not earn any commission from this. But I think this is great resource that is worth checking out. So if you are interested to have more information, just hop over and contact Jonathan.
