Working Moms Looking To De-Stress

Dedicated To Those Stressed In Secret And Seeking A Way To Handle Stress

Working women play a daily game of balancing career/business and family life. You want to spend as much time as you can with your children to provide care and guidance. And you also want to shine at work (on top of wanting to be a supportive and loving partner)

And in an effort to excel in all that you do and to meet your very high expectations of yourself (including maintaining a healthy professional image and appearance) you may be slowly caving in on the inside.

A survey conducted by Working Mothers found that 5.3 million women in the United States drink in an unhealthy manner.  More women are secretly turning to wine, vodka or xanax at the end of the day to wind own.

Some
cannot make it through the day without these drinks. There seems to be more to it than just a harmless glass of wine.

The shocking thing about this is that these women appear to be in control, their children are doing well in school and they are performing at work.

They do not go to bars or drink excessively during dinner. An you would never have guessed that they are progressively turning to and depending on alchohol to de-stress at the end of the day.

When you don't know how to handle stress and you are not free to talk about it then you may try what seems easiest.
However, there are other more healthy and sustaining ways to deal with stress.

These magic pills and drinks do not work because they do not deal with the root issue. In fact they are harmful to our health, our career and the lives and safety of those around us.

Yet knowing this is not enough to stop some of us from drinking because we are desperately looking for a solution to de-stress and we may not want to talk about it.

Here's the report by working mother and more alarming statistics

Read this, here's a full length story of a mother whose tragedy could have been avoided. If you know of anyone who may be suffering in secret because of the stigma attached to stress, let them know that there are support groups and help available. Deal with the root and not the sympton.
