What Does The International Coaching Week Mean To You?

Everyone knows that this is the week before Valentines Day. In fact the Lunar New Year also falls on the 14th February this year. The buzz has begun and everyone is busy doing last minute shopping to welcome these occasions.

Well, there is yet another meaningful event happening this week, and that is the International Coaching Week. It starts on the 7th February and goes on for a week till the 13th, leading up to Valentines Day. Now what is International Coaching Week?

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. It is not uncommon that many find great “aha” moments about themselves and the way they see things through an experience of having been coached.

The International Coaching Week (ICW) is a time to celebrate and acknowledge the coaching profession and a time for coaches to share with the public about the value of working with a professional coach. This is the time for coaches to share of the power of coaching to those who may still be unexposed to life coaching (or business coaching).

This is also a time to acknowledge the results and progress made by both the coach and the coaches through the coaching process. Coaches around the world typically offer different events and activities to celebrate and to share what coaching has the ability to do.

Many coaches are offering pro bono sessions to those who are open and ready to be coached. So what does the International Coaching Week mean to you? If you have heard about coaching and wonder what it is, this is a good time to experience for yourself what coaching is. Depending on the area you are seeking peak results, you can choose to engage a general life coach, a wellness and fitness coach, a business coach, a productivity coach, you get the idea.

You can choose to be coached in person, face-to-face or from home. So long as you have a phone connection, you can tap into coaching services offered by professional coaches around the globe. You can also choose to be coach one-on-one or in a group. Each has its advantages. You can explore the different options with your coach.

Coaching is a buzz word today. The International Coaching Federation requires qualified coaches to exhibit 11 core competencies and to have gone through stringent and structured coach training, mentoring and practicum before certification.

Typically you can have a free trial session with your coach so you can see if there is a fit between you. All things being equal (experience, certification, expertise area), there is a need for trust and chemistry to exist between coach and coachee because coaching takes you deep into the core of your being.

By allowing the coach to work with you at the root level, you can be making fundamental changes that will affect your entire outlook in life, your professional performance, relationships with family and friends. Even your life style and the general way you think will be reviewed. You will be refreshed and renewed with freedom and power to be your best self.

So, if you have the slightest interest to find out what life coaching is, try it out. No amount of explanation will give it justice although many articles have been written on what coaching is. Give yourself a chance to experience what coaching is and what it can do for you. Experiential knowledge gives the best answer here.

Coaching can enhance your professional, personal, relationship life, and you will discover things about yourself you never noticed before too. Are you ready to unlock the hidden chains that have kept you from being your best?
